Who Knew Lots of Rain is Good?

A rainy cool summer may keep you in bed and groggy, but Lake Champlain is benefiting…who knew?!

Mary Watzin, dean of the UVM’s School of Natural Resources, said brisk winds and cool temperatures have kept major algae blooms away from northern Lake Champlain this summer.

At least the algae is gone for those rainy days on the boat….riiiight. Now you have a topic of conversation. When someone says it’s raining again, you can say BUT THE ALGAE ARE RECEADING! You can be the most optimistic person around.
