For months the internet has been positively abuzz with rumors of the PS3 slim, a trimmed down model with fewer parts, all the same features, and a nicer price.  Spy photos allegedly leaked directly from the Sony factory (below), but those have never been confirmed.

Why bother talking about this now?  Well, Amazon Germany put the PS3 Slim on their website, and then promptly removed it after gaming sites nearly imploded from the excitement.  Speculation is that the PS3 slim will be announced in about a month when Japan has some large gaming conventions.  For most folks though, this is almost as good as an official confirmation, because Amazon wouldn’t just make up a product to put on their site.  Somebody dropped the ball and leaked it early, and I’m pumped.  This is what I’ve been holding out for.
